This brewery is one of a kind and the beautiful landscape will set your mind at ease as you enjoy some awesome beers. Whether you are looking to run, walk, or just enjoy the flavors of craft beer this race is a sure thing for a great time and an incredible experience! This race is timed and scored by Run2Win Timing. McDade is having it’s 77th Watermelon Festival July 11th and 12th!
Friday night is the street dance and Saturday is the parade and festival.
We will be at the festival selling Vino Sandia (watermelon wine), Watermelon Coolers, Sangria, Watermelon Seltzer, and our homemade Root Beer all day Saturday!

The winery and brewery will be open for regular business (11am-9pm) all day Saturday. We will have live music with Ben Zuniga from 4pm-7pm if you want to come out and cool off after Watermelon Festival activities.
Charcuterie Building Class is back again!
Thursday, September 19th we are hosting an intimate and educational charcuterie and wine pairing course led by our sommelier. We only have 20 spots available for this experience so don’t wait to order your tickets! This time we are highlighting our brand new dry Riesling as the star of the wine tasting experience. Come see what this new Texas Riesling can do!
Tickets are $50/person and include:
– A 1 hour educational charcuterie building experience
– An educational wine tasting led by our sommelier (amounts to 2 full glasses of wine)
– Educational take-home materials for you to use as you host your next house party
– A fun competition to see who creates the best board! (optional)
– A cute charcuterie board to take home!
When the course is finished you are free to enjoy your creation along with any additional wine purchases, or we can wrap up your beautifully crafted charcuterie if you’d like to take it home to enjoy later.

Last year’s queens will be passing the crown to this year’s queens. The 2024 Watermelon Queens are below.

This event is free and open to the public for all to meet the new McDade Watermelon Queens. We will have live music by the Shop Dawgz before and after the event so come on out and stay for the day!

Wine Club Summer Pickup Party😁
Wine Club members can come pick up their quarterly boxes anytime between 11-6pm on Sunday, June 22nd* and receive a complementary glass of wine and a free plate of food**
Food is served at 2pm and music by Sophia Johnson is from from 2-5pm
*if you are not able to make it to the pickup party, please email wineclub@risingsunvineyard.com with the time/date you will be able to pick your box up. Boxes will be shipped to your address on file 2 weeks after the pickup party if we do not hear from you.
**complimentary glasses are only given out at the pickup party. Guests are welcome to join the party with members but must pay an additional $20/plate and must purchase their own wine.
Have you ever wanted to make your own jewelry? If you have, come out and learn how to perfect the craft with a local jewelry designer! You will select from an assortment of semi-precious stones. Once you have made your selection Robyn will lead you through the basics of wire wrapping. You will learn tools of the trade, create a pendent and necklace with matching earrings. At the end of class you will walk away with a wearable piece of art.

The Thursday Night Jeffersons are a mostly unrehearsed collection of misfit rock stars, many who’ve never wanted to be on stage, but have persisted in the quest not to squelch the dreams of the real musicians. After 20 years of Austin, TX, fireside jams, a group stumbled to the stage to create and share their original songs for y’all to enjoy. You’ll have as much fun listening as they do playing.
